QRTR Track Of The Week #4
19 JUNE 2019
PLYA – Still In Love
London based trio PLYA have delivered a slice of glistening electronic alt-pop with the gorgeous track ‘Still In Love’. The band caught our attention supporting The Night Game last year and now they’re out with their debut EP. With support from NME, Q, Clash Magazine and BBC Introducing, PLYA is something to keep your eyes on. Listen to Still In Love below.
“Still In Love came about completely by chance whilst we were finishing up recording guitars for a completely different song. We had decided to make some margaritas to celebrate completing the other track and just started jamming this pulsating bassline which we loved. That same evening we tracked most of the final instrumentation and pre/chorus vocals, and finished the lyrics back in London over the next few weeks once we had a chance to reflect on what we wanted to say. The song is about not being able to decide how and when love hits you. It plays with the idea that it must be some kind of trick but ultimately it’s something you can’t control.”
